Rodbourne \'A\' GF_15147735789_o.jpg Rodbourne A GFThumbnails

Taken from a train on the Down Main, the line nearest the train is the Up Main and the next line over is the Up Goods (West Loop). Behind that is the Works Engine Line and the sidings.

The crossover on the right is controlled by Rodbourne 'A' GF (release 381), and just visible at the far end of the double slip is SN.217, which applied to the lines on both sides of it, and showed a yellow 'on' indication. This means that trains could use the Engine Line without requiring to use the ground frame or the signal to clear. The signal could only clear for the route towards the Up Goods. The rodding for the crossover is visible between the Up Main and Up Goods. The ends of the double-slip not involved in protecting the Up Goods were hand-worked.

The GF itself was off-screen to the right, as it also controlled another crossover to the right of the picture.

Just about visible in the distance, to the left of the loco, is SN.57, main aspect signal on the Up Goods that protects Rodbourne 'B' GF which controlled another siding connection, just visible to the left of the loco.
